I’m Jennifer Lorton, And I’m a contemporary and botanical mixed media artist focused on the natural elements (earth, fire, wood, water, metal and air), creating soothing textural abstracts and modern botanical and nature studies. As a nature lover and a homebody, I understand the desire to merge that wild and free part of your heart, with the nurturing comforts of home. so I infuse my original works with the energy of the elements, keeping the work deeply rooted in nature, with an aesthetic that feels thoughtful and comforting. My paintings are richly textured and These details embrace a balance of tactile beauty, dimension, and a cozy feeling that manages to be both modern and timeless. my work features a color palette inspired by a vast collection of foraged rock and soil pigments. these earthy colors pair beautifully with textiles, furnishings and accessories.

About my experience
my painting career began over 30 years ago, working on a Design Showcase House in the Napa Valley. I’ve had the honor of being featured in numerous design blogs, magazines, books, art galleries, a couple of museums, and in collector’s homes around the world. I began my career specializing in faux finishes, color consulting interior decorators, residential and commercial murals, restoring antiques, Venetian plaster style wall treatments, and hand painted decorative elements. This experience allowed me to work extensively in the design industry, working on projects of all sizes. I created a line of decorative home accessories that were put into production, and sold to-the-trade at wholesale design markets. Ultimately, I shifted to expressing my creativity through fine art, and the elements, while remaining connected to my interior design roots. My proprietary techniques and vast experience give my work a timeless versatility with a distinctive aesthetic that compliments countless design styles.
